A response to this article that appears on the nymag.com website:
So, the song, "Crush" hit to top of the pop charts. That tells me plenty even before listening to the song. But I did, in spite of my better instinct, youtube it and I was not disappointed. I knew it would be another churned out pablum sucking cheap hook in bedded, lack of originality POS and I was unfortunately correct. This comment has absolutely nothing to do with the high talents of D.A., whom I wanted to compete on Idol till the end. It speaks to the absolute lack of musical insight pop culture continues to reinforce in today's youth. Namely that crap sells musically just like sex and inane sitcoms. This is not art, it is sales. It is marketing and once again, American pop culture bought it hook line and sinker. David A. may be mature in how he handles success, but his success isn't strictly his, it is his handlers and if he ever gets over all the easy money and decides to actually work for a living writing and producing his own work, then I will change my tune and offer my props to him. Until that day, there is nothing here to listen to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmNFfbEsJLk&feature=rec-fresh

The tragedy is not only Britney's, it is our tragedy as well!

I was left feeling terribly bad for poor, screwed up Britany Spears after reading Vanessa Grigoriadis’ collage of previously covered material, including all the lewd photos-shame on you at RS. I considered all sides, from her fucked up family, little sister included, greedy self-serving “friends”, handlers and managers and I considered Britany herself and what role she takes in all this mess she finds herself subject to.
This country is a cesspool of wasted time and wasted lives over popular crap which has absolutely no redeeming value, not even from the simplistic entertainment value she has delivered at everyone else’s direction. I doubt this grown child has ever made a simple decision for herself prior to her pathetic demise. But I do not cast much of the blame on her. She is a churned out product of cheese whiz proportions who destructed under the pressure and evil manipulations of people who knew what was right for their pockets without ever giving a shit about what was right for her. Too young, too easily manipulated and surrounded by the piece of shit she called her mother and drunk bastard father, swamped with attention and glitter and lights and screaming fans, she burned in the very fire she set herself but relentlessly fanned by the gluttonous media who actually believe we have a right to witness this catastrophe of a human life.
I say fuck all of you, RS included. Let this child recover, let her get her bearings and find herself and escape from the myriad images we have of her so she can finally develop one of her own. You call this article “the tragedy of Britney Spears”, I say the tragedy is how the publics so called need to know amounts to the most asinine and whorish profession of Paparazzi descending on her and other victims like hyenas to the kill. This whole thing has been nothing more than a late teenaged rebellion against EVERYONE for telling her what to do, who to be and how to behave. She lost her mind because we took it from her, and she is finally, I pray (and I do not even believe in god,) about to discover the real Britney Spears. When she finally stands up, I will applaud her triumph back from hell, or back into it!

My views on abortion or Pro Choice as the women's groups euphemistically are inclined to call it.

The designer is an abortion-rights activist who once exercised her political activism on a Wisconsin college campus.
Jennifer Baumgardner, a 1992 graduate of Lawrence University in Appleton, is now a New York author who writes frequently on women's issues and has co-authored a book called "Manifesta: Young Women, Feminism and the Future."
Not sure how I got on this e-mailing list, (NARAL) but already sent my opt out request.
I hope someone will hear me out on this:
When will women learn that for the greatest majority of women in this country, the USA, choice=abortion is a means of contraception, or should I say contra-delivery. Do not delude young, foolish teenagers or give added credence to the plethora of women who actually practice repetitive use of termination with talk of rights and choice. There was in the greatest numbers, choice-to abstain, use real contraception or put up for adoption. The entire process of ripping life from the womb, yes, life, no matter how pro-choice women's groups care to rationalize it (thus brain-washing yet to abort women) for their emotional expediencies, is a repulsive and entirely too human an act of barbarism and unconcern for the process of the formation of life. Define it how you like it but conception is the absolute beginning of life, for with out conception, there would be no life.
If one were to discuss willingness to bear children between partners, to them, the non-conceived notion of a baby is already alive. How then can you say the products of conception, as if people are products-such dehumanizing terminology works in your favor-which comes from the physical act of pro-creation as in creating life-hello? are no less life and worthy of respect? As it is I am pro-choice for now, to prevent the years of back alley procedures with injured and killed many a woman, but that is not to say I condone this practice. Such disrespect for our biology and disregard for our nature is tantamount to denying who we are, an evolving species who can send people into outer-space but can not see the horrible assault on our collective psyche via the continued encouragement of abortion as a means to relieve us of the burden of ushering forth life we did not want. Face it, we humans abort under the guise of choice through the ill-perceived belief that this is not life in order to stop a fetus from developing into a baby. That F-N makes no sense. It is an example of reverse sublimation where we take the natural inclination-give birth and subvert it into a gross distortion of logic.
Cloning aside, life begins at conception. Your pro choice advocacy should be directed primarily at teaching women to not consider abortion until every possible scenario has been discuses to death, if you will pardon the pun, and then only if there is inherent grave risk to the mother. A fetus should never pose a threat to the bearer. Abortion should be viewed as a proscription so its doing would be perceived as unacceptable, which for me it is. THere are better ways to handle this then giving rights to women to make up for the millennia in which rights were denied. Yea, its your body, great, but so has the right that grows within you. It did not ask to be here, you allowed it, most of the time. Do not deny it its final glory, birth.I would drink to that.

Anti-smoking ad man reported can't quit...

Smoking as many of you believe is a personal choice. An awful one at that, but yours to make. All the marketing of cig companies does not thrust the first one in your mouth and light it for you then pull on your diaphragm so you inhale.
Everyone here who started to smoke remembers the pain on first inhalation yet we persevered and eventually forced our bodies to accept this punishment. And for what? To look cool, hang with the other dolts who smoked? Soon enough, your body adapts and begins to crave both out of repetitive habit and nicotine dependence. Then it is not about being with the "in" crowd, its about survival without.
People are weak and seek out reasons to be dependant on someone or something. It alleviates the inherent loneliness all of us can appreciate. After all we are one among many and it is us-I, which must be satisfied first. Now a man with a seemingly unbreakable habit/addiction stands, on one leg no less, to warn us of the dangers of smoking. We already know the dangers and so does he, through actual consequences and he can not quit. his example to us will also serve no useful purpose save for the anti-smoking zealots who really have no solution to the problems of smoking, the economic impact on healthcare premiums, lost work days, ad infinitum.
My personal and rather harsh opinion for helping people choose NOT TO START in the first place is to inform them that if they develop smoking related health consequences, they will not be covered under insurance. This of course will never fly. Naturally, if you are stupid enough to smoke and get addicted, you are probably too stupid to understand the consequences and no more than a slave to your lack of will. I smoked for years and I am a registered nurse. I quit 7 yrs ago and never looked back. I was stupid then, I am smarter now. It was difficult but not impossible, ostensibly.
BTW, there is nothing heart-wrenching about this fool in the ads. He inspires no pity, no emotion of compassion, nothing from me. He is a fool who wasted his life, his one shot, to help support the big tobacco industry. I may still live to regret my ill-conceived decision to start down the road, but that is my onus. If he had quit, I might offer a bit more understanding but as it is, stupid is what stupid does.

Dr. Phil, you violated Ms. Spears' rights under HIPAA

For a man who calls himself Dr., (He has a Doctorate in psychology, so yes he is a real Dr. academically), he doesn’t seem to know the first thing about HIPAA, the federal law also know as the Heath Insurance Portability and Accountability Act passed into law in 1996 which clearly states that you can not go around revealing PHI or Personal Health Information without a release from the patient. We have all signed this document when visiting a real Doctor for the first time. Since Dr. Phil has license to diagnosis illness, in this case, the mental health of one Brittney Spears, it is completely inappropriate and illegal and subject to sanctions. What ever those penalties are, they should be applied by the patient herself and possibly her family who consulted with him. No matter what anyone thinks of Ms. Spears, Dr. Phil has no right to release PHI on anyone to any media without consent to do so. Simple fact, Dr. Phil has gotten too big for his britches. I never fell for his method of popular psychology. Seems he and Brittney have more in common than I might have imagined. She produces pop and so does he.

Can anyone add content to Ahmadinejad's Blog? I try to find out.

I can not express criticism of your rule without first acknowledging my criticism of rule in the USA. I have plenty and so do millions, millions of others.. I freely read these dally in prominent, freely run newspapers, blog posts and openly discussed in public forums and in the presence of the state and federal authority.
How free do those subjects you rule over at the behest of your Almighty God, the All-Knowing, the Most Lovingly Compassionate feel in discussing matters of national interest, leadership, the path of the country, policy and military? Is there a free press, in-fact are there hundreds of free press organizations which are capable of printing even the most scandalous and scathing reports about how people feel about you? Are they allowed to express in cartoon characterizations how they feel about you or your policies? Can they freely wish you were in jail or dead or kicked out of office-impeached? Do you even believe that this kind of decent exists in Iran or are you still hiding behind the perception that what one does not see does not exist? Do you still hold to the belief that there are no homosexuals in Iran?
Do you wish to see a world in which ALL citizens and countries ruled by Islamic Governance? Is there any room in your head, heart or soul for diversity? Is there room for blacks, asians, hispanics, and a myriad of other genetically distinct tribes and varieties of human to inhabit this vast planet of ours? Is the world you envision limited to Islam?
You speak ardently of an Almighty God, the All-Knowing, the Most Lovingly Compassionate. Did not this Almighty God, the All-Knowing, the Most Lovingly Compassionate create out of it's wisdom all these differences amongst people? Is it not then easy to interpret that the plan is to get along with all these different types of people? Could you actually believe it possible this Almighty God, the All-Knowing, the Most Lovingly Compassionate wishes you to cleanse the world of anyone different from you? If not, how do you explain it? How do you explain this diversity from one god?
You must for the sake of peace at the likely expense of your pride and that of your countries, allow IAEA in to verify openly and without any restriction your nuclear intent. I feel for you, the devastating hypocrisy being displayed by the USA and other countries who possess not only nuclear energy but nuclear weapons as well. And to top it all off, it was the USA who first used WMD against another country. Imagine that, that we would have the audacity and temerity to insist upon your compliance!
Well, for one who has been steeped in American media, I have no other perspective save for that of my own wits in deciphering truth from propaganda. With all due respect, your history of proclaiming your desire for the destruction of Israel leaves one with the impression that should you possess these, it would not be without desire to use them. Of course this makes no sense especially within the context of your Almighty God, the All-Knowing, the Most Lovingly Compassionate. But given the climate of rising radical islamic hatred of the west and to whom the west supports, namely, Israel, it is not without reason you are distrusted by more than the USA. All government should be open, transparent. This is especially applicable to this country of mine, the USA. There has been too much cover-up in this administration and it will be gone soon enough. Our president has the dubious honor of having one of the lowest approval ratings in American presidential history. I disagree with plenty he and our near impotent congress and senate have allowed him to get away with.
All I ask as a free citizen of the USA is that you openly declare your belief in the right of Israel to coexist in peace with the islamic community. That you no longer harbor malevolence for the sovereignty of this nation and that you will never seek to acquire nuclear weapons or other WMD with the intent to use them on Israel or another nation preemptively. This countries policy of preemption is intolerable for the majority of free living citizens in the US. Many are even supporting a presidential candidate with more severe isolationist ideologies.
I supported your right to speak freely in this country when you did so at Columbia University. My opinion was even published in the free press. I was also somewhat offended at the reception the Dean of Columbia gave you, but not entirely so. It was imprudent to use that venue to cast aspersions when he should have been openly declaring the greatness of our constitution which allows for the sharing of ideas through free speech no matter who is sharing them. But what can you expect of a politician who succumbs to the pressure to rebuke!
Freedom is a peoples right and an individuals right to exercise in a responsible manner. I hope to hear words of peace emanate
from your mouth, words of hope for a free world, free of war and talk of war. Free of inter-religious hate and free of self-righteous gallimaufry. You must be an example to the world, a beacon unto all nations, that you are about peace and brotherhood, life and liberty, compassion and concern for the downtrodden. Not just about maintaining power. It is the will of the people who are most important in governance. Be a wellspring of hope that all nations will live side by side, each within its own set of beliefs, whether it be religious or not and let us hear of your disdain for the actions of radicals who seek to destroy with no plan for creation.
You proclaim fidelity to your Allah. That Allah is a Most Lovingly Compassionate God. And as you found guidance and truth in Nahjul Balagha, I would expect you exemplify these precepts through actions that reflect on the great words of this text and rule with them in mind just as Allah expects you to keep Allah in the forefront of your thoughts.
Go in peace, Mr. President, lead in peace.
