Archuleta and pop culture exudates

A response to this article that appears on the nymag.com website:

So, the song, "Crush" hit to top of the pop charts. That tells me plenty even before listening to the song. But I did, in spite of my better instinct, youtube it and I was not disappointed. I knew it would be another churned out pablum sucking cheap hook in bedded, lack of originality POS and I was unfortunately correct. This comment has absolutely nothing to do with the high talents of D.A., whom I wanted to compete on Idol till the end. It speaks to the absolute lack of musical insight pop culture continues to reinforce in today's youth. Namely that crap sells musically just like sex and inane sitcoms. This is not art, it is sales. It is marketing and once again, American pop culture bought it hook line and sinker. David A. may be mature in how he handles success, but his success isn't strictly his, it is his handlers and if he ever gets over all the easy money and decides to actually work for a living writing and producing his own work, then I will change my tune and offer my props to him. Until that day, there is nothing here to listen to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmNFfbEsJLk&feature=rec-fresh
